Zagreb, Croatia, 2016, April 27
For the second time ever in Croatia, Lemax (Lemax software) organized the Girls in ICT Day under the name “ICT Supergirls 2016”. Students from local universities and schools participated in this unique experience. The goal was to motivate the younger female population to imagine their future in technology, and support the education of women and girls in the ICT sector.
The Day consisted of 3 parts:
1st part: Fun and instructive “Open Day” time at Lemax where students saw all departments and employees, asked questions and were able to get a glimpse of the company’s working culture. Our colleagues from different departments also held presentations, explaining their departments and work obligations.
2nd part: Presentations by guest speakers from among the leading Croatian women entrepreneurs and women role models in the local ICT sector – Antonija Bilić Arar (BlaBlaCar Hrvatska), Željka Tičić (IBM), Maja Bilić (Google), and Vedrana Miholić (CROZ). They all have different educational background but work in the same sector – information and communication technologies.
3rd part: An award winning contest where students tested their knowledge in IT. The beautiful prize was provided by Tester Box – first Croatian beauty box.
The atmosphere during the presentation was very positive, and young girls who attended the event actively participated by asking questions.
Between all events, the students had time for a snack and coffee as well as spend time with the Lemax team, playing ping-pong, table football and much more.
